Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Art Gallery (IKUSAG) continues to live with the vision of our Founder and Honorary Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Civil Engineer Fahamettin Akıngüç, who focuses on education, culture and art, and the rich artistic heritage he left.

IKUSAG 2026-2027 Art Season opened with the "Atilla Ekşinozlugil XVI. and XVII. Century Ottoman Textile Collection Exhibition", curated and art directed by Yeşer Yelmez, one of our alumni of the Faculty of Art and Design, Art and Cultural Management. 

As part of the Istanbul Kültür University 2026-2027 Academic Year Orientation Program, student clubs came together with new students. With the club stands held in the backyard of the Ataköy building on the Bakırköy Campus between September 15-18, 2026, students had the opportunity to get to know the clubs related to their interests closely and discover the social opportunities of university life.

During the orientation, 65 student clubs opened stands and introduced their fields of activity, the work they carried out and the activities they will organize throughout the year to new students. At the same time, new member registrations were taken at the stands and students were supported to participate in the clubs they were interested in.

In the orientation program, which was colored with the active contributions of student clubs, different social and cultural activities met with the students as well as club stands. In addition to the dance performance performed by the Dance Club on September 17, the Baraka Band Group took the stage.

On Friday, September 18, the last day of the orientation program, closing events were held. After the dance performance, the IKU Orchestra took the stage, while the program witnessed fun moments with Red Bull's DJ performance. At the end of the event, the awards were presented to the students who won awards in the raffle.

Thanks to the program, which continued for four days, new students had the opportunity to get to know IKU's student clubs and social life closely and made a pleasant start to university life. Student clubs, on the other hand, met new members and brought their activities to a wider student base.

Organized under the leadership of the Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEMER), in collaboration with PUMA and PumAkademi, the training program titled “Being an Academic at IKU: Learning Experience, Academic Culture and Digital Ecosystem” was held.

The program, held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, aimed to enable academics who have recently embarked on their academic careers to gain a comprehensive understanding of Istanbul Kültür University’s academic culture and working ecosystem, enhance their knowledge and experience regarding teaching and learning processes, and make a stronger start to their first academic term.

Delivering the opening speech of the program, our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe shared with the new academics the framework of our university’s educational approach, academic culture, and student experience.

The "Design Factory Introduction and Information Seminar Series" organized by Istanbul Kültür University Design Factory within the scope of the 2026-2027 Academic Year started with the first seminar held on September 18, 2026.

In the seminar organized for students to get to know the Design Factory better, to discover the opportunities offered and to learn about the opportunities they can create for themselves in the new academic year, the working model of the Design Factory, student programs, application processes and production and development opportunities that students can benefit from were discussed.

At the opening of the seminar, Design Factory Coordinator Meltem Zengin conveyed the environment offered by the Design Factory to students and its structure that brings students from different disciplines together, Event Coordinator Bengisu Ankara gave information about student programs and application processes. Within the scope of the program, Competency Specialist Efe Anğın also shared his experiences with the students on how ideas can turn into projects at the Design Factory through the PUMA application he developed.

The Design Factory offers a working and production space that allows students to come together with people from different disciplines to produce, develop their ideas and gain experience through real projects.

The "Design Factory Promotion and Information Seminar Series" will continue to meet with students in the new academic year with activities to be held with different topics and guests.

On Monday, September 21, 2026, the Department of Industrial Engineering held a department orientation meeting for 1st year students. Within the scope of the meeting, our students were provided with comprehensive information about the academic staff of the department, the undergraduate program and lesson plans, the academic systems used in the education process, and student clubs.

In addition, in order to support the adaptation processes of students to university and department life, information was given on various issues related to academic processes, department facilities and student life.

We wish our new students success in their academic journeys and hope they have a productive and successful education period.

The Department of New Media and Communication at the Faculty of Art and Design of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) organized an orientation program for first-year students joining the department in the 2026-2027 academic year on Monday, September 22, 2026, in the multipurpose hall on the 2nd floor of the Ataköy building at the Bakırköy Campus. The program began with an introduction to the department’s academic staff. This was followed by information about the department’s objectives and program outcomes. Students were then provided with fundamental information about academic processes. During the program, which included an introduction to first-semester courses and information about our university’s course structure, academic advising and peer mentoring were also discussed. Students were also informed about the internship process, the Erasmus exchange program, double major and minor opportunities, the graduation project, and graduation requirements.

In the final part of the program, information was provided about the New Media and Communication Club, and students’ questions were answered.

IKU Architecture Club academic advisor Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu held a meeting with the members of the Board of Directors of the Architecture Club on the activities to be held in the 2026-2027 Academic Year.

An orientation program was held by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering  was held for all our students, especially those newly enrolled in the department in the 2026-2027 Academic Year, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, between 10.30-11.00 in the 4th floor 4C0406 classroom in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy Campus.

Within the scope of the program, our students were informed about the academic structure of the department, the education process and the opportunities of the department; Shares were made to support our students' adaptation processes to university and department life.

The Dean of Students Office - Kültür Noktası will organize “Turkish Sign Language Training” to support effective communication with individuals with hearing impairments, raise social awareness, and foster a sense of social responsibility among our students. The training, to be delivered by instructor Ahmet Tombul, will be held online via the CATS platform on September 28-29, 2026, from 17.00 to 20.00.

In collaboration with the New Media and Communication Club and the Department of New Media and Communication, a talk titled “Email Writing and Effective LinkedIn Use” will be held to provide students with fundamental skills in professional communication processes and enable them to use effective communication tools in their professional lives. The event, featuring PUMA Business Analyst Efe Anğın as the speaker, will be held on Tuesday, September 29, from 9.30 to 11.00 at the Design Factory in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy Campus.

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Istanbul Kültür University (IKU), in collaboration with Selçuk Municipality and the Turkish Mathematical Society-MAD Project, will organize the “11th National Symposium on Logic, Mathematics and Philosophy.” Held under the theme “ARAF: People and Knowledge Between Uncertain Certainties and Certain Uncertainties,” the symposium will take place at the Selçuk Ephesus City Memory Conference Hall from October 1 to 3, 2026.

Dedicated to the cherished memory of our Honorary Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Senior Civil Engineer Mr. Fahamettin Akıngüç, the symposium marks the eleventh gathering in the tradition of the Symposium on Logic, Mathematics and Philosophy, which began in 2003 under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Erdal İnönü and continued for ten years.

The event will address the relationships among mathematical certainty, logical consistency, philosophical inquiry, and artistic creativity through an interdisciplinary approach, while discussing the reflections of the concepts of certainty and uncertainty in the contexts of mathematics, logic, philosophy, history, literature, art, language, and other social sciences and humanities.

A charity bazaar will be organized by the Animal Protection and Welfare Club on Friday, October 2, 2026, between 09.00 and 18.00 at the B1 floor stand area of the Ataköy Building at the Bakırköy Campus, as part of the “October 4 World Animal Protection Day” to meet the clinical and food needs of our little friends on our campuses.

The third event of the “Introduction and Information Seminar Series” organized by Istanbul Kültür University (İKU) Design Factory will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 15.00 at the Design Factory in the Ataköy Building at the Bakırköy Campus.

At the third meeting of the series, the application evaluation criteria, the points to be considered during the interview stages, and the details of the steps will be shared with the participants.

The Istanbul Kültür University Underwater Society (IKUSAT) will organize a diving event in Ayvalık, Balıkesir, on October 3-4, 2026.
